Vibriobakterier kan finnas i förhöjda halter i badvatten (framförallt bräckt och salt vatten men även sötvatten) om vattentemperaturen har varit över 20 ºC. Om man har ett sår som inte är bagatellartat bör man undvika utomhusbad. Det gäller även bad i badtunnor om man använder sjö- eller havsvatten.
